Sunday Morning Kids Ministry
Ministries available during 9:00am Worship
- Kids Church for kids in Kindergarten - 5th Grade
Kids Church is held during 9am worship service from September to May
each year. Parents are invited to sign in their kids at the Children’s Ministry
check-in desk any time after 8:45am. A team of dedicated volunteers serve
in this ministry and teach from “Answers Bible Curriculum (ABC)”
produced by Answers in Genesis. The scope & sequence of this solid
Bible-based curriculum that journeys from Genesis to Revelation can be
accessed by clicking the logo below.
Ministries available during 10:30am Worship
Nursery for 0–3-year-olds
Nursery is available year-round for infants through 3-year-olds during
10:30am worship. Parents may drop off their infants to our loving team of
nursery volunteers at the nursery check-in counter in the main hallway.
Jr. Kids Church for 4-year-olds – 1st Grade
Jr. Kids Church is available year-round during 10:30am worship for potty-
trained toddlers through 1st Grade students. The check-in desk for Jr.
Kids Church is in the “church office” hallway. A team of dedicated
teachers and helpers serve in this ministry and teach from curriculum that
accompanies “The Beginners Bible”.

Sunday Evening Kids Ministry
AWANA
MWC “AWANA Club” meets on Sunday nights from 5:30pm-7:00pm from
October to April each year for all Preschool through 5th Grade students.
AWANA Clubs International is a world-wide organization that aims to equip leaders to reach kids with the Gospel and engage them in lifelong
discipleship. Our local MWC AWANA Club nights are full of games,
worship, Bible lessons, memory verses, prayer and learning to apply God’s
word to their lives.

Released Time Bible Class at MWC
Released Time Bible Class (RTBC) is a way for boys and girls in public schools to be released from school during the school day to receive religious instruction. Under Michigan law, children can be released from school “while in attendance at religious instruction classes for not more than 2 class hours per week, off public school property during public school hours, upon written request of the parent, guardian or person in loco parentis.” – Michigan Compiled Laws 380.156I(3)(d).
In other words—if Mom or Dad signs a permission slip, the children can go from school during school time to a nearby church or similar location for a Bible class. These classes are legal, they are educational, and they are fun! At Rural Bible Ministries (RBM), we offer classes once each month, rather than weekly, and children can hardly wait for the next one!
Merrill Wesleyan Church partners with RBM Ministries to conduct monthly RTBC for Merrill Elementary School (Grades 1 st -5 th Grade) and Hemlock’s K.C. Ling Elementary School (Grades 1 st – 4 th ). Students are transported from school to MWC for Bible Class using (privately funded) school bus transportation. VBS 2026
Get your passport ready for Ireland and join the adventure! Merrill Wesleyan Church will be hosting Emerald Crossing VBS on July 20-24th, 2026 for all kids who have COMPLETED kindergarten through 5th Grade. VBS will be held Monday - Friday from 9:00am-12:00pm. Note: This will be our 5 th year of teaching – and loving – the Answers
